A Look Back At 2023
From salmon branding to smartwatches to sports drinks, 2023 likely represented the most diverse assortment of projects we have ever had. Each week, it felt like we were learning something new. And that is why we love our work!
Here are just a few of the other topics we worked on:
New candy products
Fast casual menu design
Credit card design
Office productivity suites
Pick-up truck buying behavior
e-Mountain bikes
Cargo van and SUV design
Cloud optimization technology
Mobile car care service
New soft drinks
In May, we were invited to present at QUIRKS London. At a conference full of quant people, we were definitely oddities. But our presentation, Your Participants Are Your Most Valuable Asset - Are You Wasting Their Time And Yours? attracted a full house and was a welcome respite from endless speeches about AI taking over research.
Prior to the conference, we caught up up with Richard Gush, our good friend from Research Sense who lives in the Cotswolds. Along with his partner Tom, he wined and dined us at the highest level including an afternoon tea at Castle Combe. Fortunately, we’ll see Richard in January 2024 at the annual QRCA Conference in Denver.
Once in London, Stephen Factor from Moment10 treated us to high tea. We’ve worked with Stephen for a long time, but had never met him face-to-face. Ever the gentleman, Stephen really wanted Liz to take the flowers but we feared US customs would not approve.
Luckily our visit coincided with King Charle’s big day, and, like true researchers, we embedded with a group of sisters we met on the tube to Hyde Parke. It was a prototypical British soggy day, but we had great fun watching the proceedings with them on a gigantic screen.
On the personal front, Liz and her husband officially became semi-empty nesters with both of their children now in college (Georgia Tech and Auburn). Jonathan is a bit behind in parenting - his oldest went off to the University of Florida at Gainesville but his youngest is a freshman in high school. We both enjoyed great family skiing and biking vacations, although we cannot say we completely disconnected from work while on them.
In October, Jonathan threw himself a big birthday party that Liz, Gayle and Hillary Fluster (our ace recruiters from AlphaBuzz in Texas), and Jason Rogers (video storyteller from Argonaut Productions) just could not miss. We’re not sure why this group shot had to be a selfie because there were plenty of people who could have taken it.
Thanks to all of our great clients for entrusting us with their important work! See you in 2024!
